Have you ever seen a cloud and seen an image in the sky? This is called apophenia. Apophenia is when you see connections that aren’t seen by others. Apophonia can be dangerous, but I know it to be beautiful when it comes to art. I use apophenia to create most of my works. I scribble until I see faces and figures and I bring out what I see with acrylic paint and paint pens. I love trying new medium and styles, but I mostly paint. I’m self-taught but have learned a lot from high school teachers and the people of Studio 84, Donna Lexa, and Art for All. My mission on earth is to bring art to the mentally ill, specifically my group home housemates. Writing is very important to me as well. I wrote a book called Hey, Joey Journal in my early twenties and a blog called Learn with Colleen. This blog is me combining my talents. I post three times a week. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Enjoy. Comment, share, follow and like.
