(POEM) Sad Bird by Zelda Bean

Sad Bird

I am a face without an expression.

Mystifying and terrifying,

Especially in the mirror.

I was hit hard.

I hurt everybody that day.

I flew like a sad bird.

Nobody likes a sad bird.

I used to think there was no such thing.

And now I am one.

I would like to be a normal bird.

Normal birds don’t crack.

They push through.

They do not fray.

All birds are not just angels.

They are faith in feathers.

They are healing– flying high.

The most beautiful part

of the sky.
