(POEM) My Name by Zelda Bean

My Name

When I am open,

I am so close to God.

Insane is the pen

that writes my name,

but He put it in my hand.

Please, tell me this,

can anything bring you closer

to God

than your black lines

asking others to bring color

to your drawing?

Be honest.

No.

When you write fast,

your hand begins to squirm

until there are no words.

There are squiggles,

and then there are shapes,

so many different shapes,

more shapes than 26 letters

can make,

and there is your name.

There.

You open up.

God is bringing you to his chest.

Black lines on the page

will bring you places.
