I work twice a week at Donna Lexa Art Centers. One day I do a bulk load of squeegee or texture paintings and the next time I come in, I take them home and do mark-making with my paint pens. Today is Monday. On Wednesday, I’ll take them home and try out the gelly roll pens I just got.
Today’s paintings are very fluorescent. Like a sunset. There’s no right or wrong way to do things. Like most of my art, I do things intuitively. This makes writing about my art hard sometimes. One day, I might have my own YouTube channel where I’ll show the process. It’s very fun to watch, although I’m not learning to squeegee by watching videos.
I didn’t use all these colors on a single canvas. I mixed it up for every artwork.
This is when the worker suggested I sandwich these two 8 in by 10 in canvases.
I messed it up, in my opinion but I kept going until I liked them. More drags. I guess you could say the rest is drag.
