(POEM) Pep Talk by Zelda Bean

Pep Talk

Stop hating yourself, you staircase.

You steady being.

You are climbing up and up an up

so gradual like.

You don’t skyrocket.

You’re step by step.

You are firm,  you floor.

Your poems are floorboards.

They breathe and support so much life.

You aren’t dancing through this journey.

You allow others to dance.

You are hardwood floors.

I hear that’s classy.

You are fantastic, you attic.

Full of everything the people

forgot about.

Fun to dig through from time to time.

They might even cry when they find what they find.

I must let you know

you are the whole damn house.

You are home.
