(POEM) Marble by Zelda Bean

Marble

I was forever the muse

until I met you—

a man made of marble.

I painted the marble bodies

in the museum

without the curator’s permission.

All of my inner brightness is coming to life.

You were made for color.

You were made for all the movement

that stilled itself when on display.

You were made.
